Postal Strikes

The Communication Workers Union is in the biggest dispute with Royal Mail since the national strike of 2007. Local strikes have taken place across the UK since June and these have grown in frequency, geographical and functional spread over the summer.

The two national strikes on Friday 6th November and Monday 9th November - involving all 121,000 members in Royal Mail Letters - are set to go ahead as planned.

Many CWU members are facing financial hardship and a National Hardship Fund has been set up to appeal for help from trade unionists across the country.

TSSA’s Executive Committee recently agreed to make a donation to the fund and members, Branches/SOGs, Divisional Councils are also asked to consider making a donation to the fund.
