RISE - London United Against Racism
This is the seventh year that the Mayor of London has organised this free festival to oppose racism and celebrate the diversity of London. In 2006, nearly 100,000 young people and families attended the festival.
There will be a main stage featuring big name acts, there’s also six other stages; African Village, Big Cuba Fiesta, Crescent stage, Underground stage, Mela stage and DJ Bus. Other activities include a children’s play area, fair ground, food and drink, exhibitions and arts and crafts.
This year London will enjoy a full weekend of entertainment to celebrate diversity with Rise East: Dagenham Town Show also taking place at Central Park on Saturday 14 July from 11am to 8.30pm. For the first time, Rise is combining with the Dagenham Town Show to bring the anti-racist message to the borough through the main stage music programme and the Rise Against Racism exhibition area.
This is your chance to celebrate London’s diversity and oppose racism, it’s also an opportunity to enjoy a good day out with something for everyone to enjoy.
