Trade Justice Movement - Don’t lock Africa into poverty
TUC Deputy General Secretary, Frances O’Grady, will address the rally before groups move off to hand in letters demanding trade justice at all 27 EU embassies in London. The event is aimed at drawing attention to the current negotiations on the six Economic Partnership Agreements, which will be signed between the EU and 75 African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. The agreements have major implications for the prospects of creating decent work and enhancing labour standards in the countries involved, as well as wider concerns about the more general impact on economic development.
The TUC are hoping for a visible trade union presence on the day and members are encouraged to attend.
