Response to London Bombings

There are two opportunities this Thursday to mark one week on from the bomb attacks on London.

At noon, there is to be a two minute silence.

Buses will stop and people are being asked, where possible, to leave their workplaces to show their respect on London’s streets.

At 6pm people will gather in Trafalgar Square for an event organised by the Mayor of London, the TUC and faith and community leaders.

It will give those who live and work in London the chance to:

* express their sympathy for the injured and bereaved * say thank you to emergency service and transport workers * unite as a city proud of its diversity * express their defiance to the terrorists and make clear that London will not be intimidated

More details as they become available at www.tuc.org.uk/londonunited
